EastARM: What We Are, What We Are Not
…low maintenance by design, set apart to do the work, period.
We are not building an organization. East Africa River Mission is a tool, positioned to facilitate a work which is already in process. A work which is already constructed by bricks and mortar halfway around the world, and a work for which the network of support is established. The long scope failure or success of EastARM is a non-issue, because EastARM is not the destination, it is just a vehicle. It is low maintenance by design, shifting the support to the project, not to the upkeep of a machine. In East Africa, we drive vintage Landcruisers, an enduringly strong diesel engine; no turbo, no cruise control, no computer system. In the bush it’s the vehicle of choice because it’s perfectly simple. On safari, it doesn’t matter what the colour of your ride is, or even how comfortably it drives… all that matters is arriving home at night.
East Africa River Mission is operated by Assists Projects, a Canadian charity. We deal with Projects and People and Africa. Give & Go with EastARM, we receipt financial investments and provide opportunities to serve abroad. Our current focus are the Rufiji lands of Tanzania, along the river in Eastern Africa.
