In this first video we’re introduced to the Rufiji, to the camp at Baker & Sons Safari Company built on the banks of the wild river, and to the local villages and project that the team from Canada have come to serve through East Africa River Mission.
Watch as the team begins to demo the old pastor’s house, with its faulty foundation, in preparation for the construction of a new home for this local family. See footage of the Rufiji and rural village life.
The team goes on ‘safari’ this episode, searching for the wild and wonderful beasts of the continent through the Selous Game Reserve, the largest animal sanctuary in all of Africa! Graydon explains more about the projects in the village done by his family’s safari company.
An overwhelming number of kids from the village show up for the team at the camp they’re hosting. The first day of camp, twenty kids arrived; the second day, one-hundred fifty; the third day, just under three-hundred kids and only a handful of leaders. While the camp leaders are wondering how to handle the influx of children, the other half of the team continue construction of the house for the pastor.
The final video wraps up with a celebration at the village church, as the pastor and his family move into their newly built home. The team returns home to Canada, but not before playing one last soccer match versus the young adults of the Rufiji. The work continues in the area, and East Africa River Mission is always looking for new recruits.

The Lord continues to surprise me in my ignorance of the many blessings that come with serving. From just one act of courage and faith, God has taken the seed I planted and has used it to give growth to the Rufiji children of Nyaminywili (nya-mee-nyee-wil-lee). It is just like what the Lord said through […]
