FUNDRAISER WEEK #4: Friday December 30th | MISSION CONFERENCES
The largest Christian University Student Conference, taking place once every three years, is happening right now and East Africa River Mission is front and centre at the event!
Gathering students from across North America into one conference centre at Indianapolis, Indiana, EastARM saw this as our final opportunity of 2022 to recruit for our mission outpost in the Rufiji, Tanzania. Calling individuals and families to join our work has been the theme of this past year. As God expands our influence, and indeed our reach into the once unreached Rufiji River Communities, the harvest field grows and with it more labourers are needed. Therefore pray to the LORD of the harvest for workers. See our event strategy at https://eastarm.net/giving_tuesday/
FUNDRAISER WEEK #3: Friday December 23rd | FUTURE PROJECTS
In Tanzania there is a Dutch man, the Good Doctor Werner, who has a burning desire from God to build a rural hospital in the country. His sights have been directed towards the Rufiji as the possible location to fulfill this desire.
Doctor Werner, together with his young family, have become connected to the Baker family of EastARM through a God-set of circumstances. The Doc comes from Holland, transplanted to Tanzania; however, Tanzania will not be the first place in East Africa he will have built a hospital from the ground-up. Years ago, in Uganda, he founded a hospital, with its staff, the building, equipment and financial infrastructure to support the project. As a newly appointed Christian, he looks to do the same in Tanzania as he did in Uganda.
FUNDRAISER WEEK #2: Thursday December 15th | NEW PARTNERSHIPS
This December, just before Christmas, a team of 8 teachers from HOPAC in Dar es Salaam – a large International Christian School located just 3.5 hours from the RUFIJI – will be traveling to partner with EastARM on a full exposure trip of our outreach projects in the local village communities.
The relationship between EastARM and HOPAC sparked during the October 6-18th mission, when the Bakers brought a single Tanzanian teacher named Kato from Haven of Peace Academy (HOPAC) to help translate and serve with the Canadian recruits on that project. Kato was profoundly impacted by what he experienced during his trip, and the seed was planted leading to a potential partnership between our Christian organizations.
FUNDRAISER WEEK #1: Thursday December 8th | The October Recruits
October 6-18th, EastARM hosted three young adults from Canada, the fruit of our recruiting efforts over the past year. Their names are Caleb, Michaela and Dani. CLICK HERE TO READ THEIR PROFILES.
In two ministry packed weeks, we finished clearing the EastARM properties in KIPO & KIPUGIRA, the mission’s newest villages along the once unreached Rufiji River; we hosted the Dinner Clubs, feeding 700+ children in the villages of Kipo, Kipugira, Mloka & Ngorongo; we pulled the whole community together on two separate evenings for village-wide football matches; we further built-upon our relationships with the local primary village schools by teaching English in their classes, volunteering for all grades, setting the groundwork in place for a future outreach to take place the week leading up to Christmas 2022.
